Schonberg Farms and Schonberg Great Pyrenees
were established in 1990 when Chad and Susan Dunn decided
that they could no longer live without a faithful
companion. Chad grew up with Labradors, with the family
always having one or two Labs that were companions,
as well as swimming and hunting buddies. Susan grew
up in the "city" never really having the "canine
experience", but when she met Chad, she also fell in
love with the Labs and knew that she wanted to someday
have "a bunch" of dogs in the house.

After dedicating 2 years to researching various breeds
(Labradors, German Shepherds, and Golden Retrievers)
they noticed a "Big White Dog" while watching the 1992
Westminster Show, and decided to investigate further.
They spent the next several months reading articles and
books about the Great Pyrenean Mountain Dog, and began
searching for their own "Animated White Snow Drift".

In March of 1992, Sabre A Silhouette of Snow stepped
into their hearts, thus beginning a journey that has
taken them from South Central Michigan, to South Western
Florida. As they say, the rest is history,
with Chad and Susan never looking back.
