As with all show dogs/breeding dogs, each individual
breed has many "lines" that strive to be as close to
the AKC Standard as possible. Individual lines are
developed based on the breeders own interpretation of
how the breed should look based on the Standard.
Thus, Pyrs look slightly different from line to line.
Schonberg Great Pyrenees are derived from the famed Rivergrove Great Pyrenees.
Chad and Susan have considered Jean and Wayne Boyd
their mentors ever since they first visited the Boyds
back in 1997, when they were looking to obtain their first
"Rivergrove Show Boy". Since that first visit,
Chad and Susan have worked exclusively with the Boyds
in perpetuating the lovely temperaments, look, shape,
and style that is a classic "Rivergroves Pyr". All of
the Schonberg Dogs can be traced directly back to the
Rivergroves line, and it is their goal to continue the
high quality, healthy Pyrs that have become some of the
top winning Pyrs in the country.
Chad and Susan are eternally grateful for the time,
patience, and guidance that Jean and Wayne have given
them over the years, and hope to continue the tradition
for years to come.
